To understand chakra balance, you must first grasp the general concept of chakras. Chakras are the opening within the human body that permits vital life force energy to flow in and out of the human aura, they are the bodies energy centers.

One of their main functions is to vitalize our physical body and also to bring about the development of your self-consciousness. Chakras are also associated with our mental, physical, and emotional interactions.

You may wonder what the chakras look like. While researching you will find that chakras have a funnel like appearance, with even smaller funnels spinning within the larger funnel. Chakras have a similar appearance of the lotus flower.

In all there are seven chakras in everyone’s body. Each has a specific color that is associated with the individual chakras. We will learn the physical location of each chakra too, and the benefits of chakra balance and how it enhances our life and relieves so much of the stress that you feel.

The seven chakras are the root, sacral, solar plexus, heart and throat chakras as well as the brow or third eye chakra and the crown chakra. They line up in the center of your body, beginning at the base of your spine and follow up to the top of your head.

To achieve chakra balance, you should eat specific foods that encourage the grounding and revitalization of energy to your chakras. You may find this list of foods helpful for balancing your chakras.

Root Chakra: Beans, beets, carrots, eggs, garlic, meat, parsnips, potatoes, radishes and tofu products.

The sacral chakra benefits by eating such foods as mangos, almonds, melons, cinnamon and honey as well as many other foods.

For you solar plexus chakra, this will help with self-esteem, try eating flax seed, cereal, milk, cheeses, ginger, mints, and others.

The heart chakra benefits by eating thyme, sage, spinach, basil, broccoli and green teas, since they encourage the healing of emotional upsets.

Throat Chakra: Apples, kiwi, lemons, lemon grass, limes, plums, pears and salt, since these foods and spices aid in speaking your truth.

Brow Chakra: Black berries, blueberries, lavender, poppy seeds and red grapes encourage the awakening of the sense of the third eye.

Finally to aid in opening, cleansing and balancing the crown chakra, you will find such incense as frankincense, copal, sage, juniper and myrrh, as they are beneficial in enhancing spiritual communications.

This of course, is a partial list of the foods, spices and drinks that are beneficial to the chakra centers, however, to gain a proper chakra balance, you must learn to focus on your own chakra centers.

Gemstones also play an important role in chakra balance, while laying a gemstone upon each chakra point. Each chakra can reach the well being of balance by leaving a gemstone on the area for at least three to five minutes, depending of course on the level of balance you feel each chakra requires. To do this, you will begin with the root chakra and work your way up the body.

You may choose to use any type of gemstone, however, you should be aware that some individuals recommend particular gemstones for each chakra center, although the choice of gemstone may vary from one individual to another. You can easily test the theory by alternating gemstones until you find your perfect match. You may notice a humming once you have your gemstones in place on your chakras, or perhaps a feel good feeling when utilizing the best gemstones. If you experience any negative feelings, or the gemstone just does not feel right, remove it and do not use it for chakra work at all.

You can experiment with different gemstones, and when you find the one that feels the best you should make a list of which chakra and what gemstone you are using. An example is black onyx being used for your root chakra, this seems to be a very good choice for most people, but once again it may not be the correct gemstone for your chakra. So don’t feel that you are doing something wrong if a gemstone that someone else suggested doesn’t work for you.

You can balance all of the chakra centers at the same time, by placing your gemstones on each chakra point for approximately three to twenty-five minutes, depending on how much balance you feel your chakras need.

A new scientific development in audio technology now allows you to achieve a chakra balance just by listening to special sound frequencies.

All you need do is to listen via headphones and your chakras automatically become balanced!
