Yoga And Relaxation Using Tibetan Singing Bowls

Friday, August 21st, 2009

In regular lingo, relaxation implies that we leave ourselves free of anxiety. Relaxing mind could suggest that the mind is not under worry or energetic. In today’s style of life, this seems tough. Isn’t it? These days, many of us think to be being under anxiety during the largest part of the week & relax simply on the weekends. This is accepted as the usual means of life. Is this the appropriate style of living? Is leading a peaceful life forever not our privilege? Let us reclaim it.

Dire strain -

If you pose a query at anyone that why is he/she enduring worry for major part of the week, what reply do you look ahead to get? I have a huge amount of duties to perform, time limits to complete, chores to be fulfilled, things to put in order for the new project etc. Don’t you suppose that something in the vein of this will be the answer?

Lets talk about why majority are feeling strained most of the time. At a certain duration in our existence, when we are trailing behind the wants we lose our practice of sitting back & reflecting. We develop the tendency for providing mechanical answers. If were caught in a traffic blockage, our response is – either to be bothered about the job in the pipeline, or hold responsible the organization or some other pessimistic notion. Not many of us think – All correct. If the traffic is jammed, let me calm down, take note of several good music, or think about some childhood unforgettable experiences, think of nice friends, let me make the best utilization of the time to unwind and enjoy livelihood. Not majority of us react in this manner. We retort in strained means each time encounter any comparable situation. This practice is taking a huge charge on our quality of life.

Anxiety – A means of life.

Weve imbibed anxiety as a method of livelihood. A small number of us wonder about why considering to work at such a wild rate & if in due course, we are going to go away from this world with lots of unfinished tasks, why not at least perform things in a unperturbed manner? What is the point of working so much , if we kill all the enjoyment. In search of a better tomorrow, we eradicate the current. Is it not?

Strained work situation, strained family life, no time to just stroll around doing nothing but look at the nature…Why? It is as if we want to realize most in the smallest doable period & therefore have no time to loosen up Working without rest throughout the week is a method of livelihood for a huge majority. The rise in the number of cardiac attacks, despair etc, are all the results of this strained lifestyle. When we get stressed, we look around for the most up-to-date stress busters, latest therapies, etc. to oppose the anxiety.

Also by the time the week gets over, we again go out somewhere to relax. Certain times vacations also wear out, don’t they?

Why not lead a unperturbed life throughout the week? Why not work in a peaceful state of mind? Why get strained? Mulling over our own life is very vital if we wish to recoup our freedom to live peacefully. Will it be helpful, if we bring a few stunning scenes of nature on our computers? Will it be helpful, if we find time to watch a butterfly flying on our screens? The splendor of a colorful flower. Can it make us little calm? If your reply is yes, download screen-savers & take time to watch them at any moment when you find time while working. Look at them, wonder about the attractiveness of nature, reflect on their perfection and just loosen up.

Stress Management with Yoga Breathing

Friday, August 7th, 2009

As I’ve said before, yoga has many benefits that relate to life — stress management and relaxation are a couple of those benefits. I have learned to find a deep relaxation with yoga breathing, even when I am not doing yoga. Of course deep breathing relaxation exercises are common for managing stress, so this should come as no surprise.

The In Breath

You should breathe in through your nose. Rather than belly breathing, you want to expand your chest to fill your lungs. In yoga you are trying to keep your core engaged, so this does not play well with belly breathing. Yoga breathing is coordinated with the movements (in vinyasa yoga). Often when a pose is particularly challenging, the instinct is to hold your breath. It is important to keep breathing well at all times, and you will find this true in life.

The Exhalation

You want to breathe out through the nose as well, and it is a forceful exhalation that produces a whooshing sound. A new yogini must find the heavy breathing in class a bit odd. This is called ouija breathing, which warms the body and improves oxygen usage.

More air is forced out of the lungs with this breathing. You will find your body instantly feels more relaxed. This powerful breathing relaxation technique creates a sense of ‘blowing off steam’.

Yoga class usually includes a few cleansing breaths as well. In this case the exhalation does come through the mouth with a sigh. Typically these are used right after a more challenging sequence. In life it is important to incorporate these sighs during or after some of your more intense challenges.

It is natural for me to use deep breathing relaxation methods throughout my day without even realizing it. Yoga has helped to train my automatic behavior. I find myself taking deeper breaths as needed without consciously initiating them. I also catch myself when I am holding my breath, and redirect myself to some deep breathing.

A single, conscious breath is considered to be a yoga practice. Being conscious of your breath brings the stress management rewards into your regular day. Ultimately it will become automatic to experience this relaxation with yoga breathing. The only breathing relaxation technique you need just might be found in your yoga practice.

Good posture is only effective if used regularly, so it is important to acquire the strength that will enable you to maintain a healthy stance without picking up old habits once more.
